Melissa is an accomplished athlete, especially in her favorite sport, Lacrosse. She has been a player, coach and referee at all competitive levels. Several years ago, Melissa began to lose her balance and was plagued with dizziness, headaches, and partial hearing loss. She was then diagnosed to have a deep inner ear tumor, Acoustic Neuroma, causing her symptoms. She underwent a risky surgery, followed by many months of physical therapy. Today she has regularly competed in several 100 mile bike rides to raise money for her favorite charity, “God’s Love We Deliver”. They deliver needed food to those who can’t travel to receive it. Melissa’s story is truly inspirational.
