‘Talking Horses'(R) discussion on Thursday, June 3 by Dr. Gregory Beroza aka HorseDoc(R), along with WRHU 88.7FM Radio Hofstra University’s David Blicksilver about the impending 2021 Belmont Stakes to be run on Saturday, June 5th. Our guests include HOF Jockey Angel Cordero Jr, HOF Jockey Jorge Velasquez, Daly Racing Form David Grening. Mention of guest Trainer Carlos Martin whose historically inspiring piece about racing, training, and his family history going back to grandfather Panco Martin training Sham, Secretariat’s greatest rival, didn’t make the cut. An hour and 1/2 historic discussion ensues regarding the horses, trainers, jockeys, starting gate positions, winning odds, and individual predictions of the race outcome in the 2021 Belmont Stakes. There was discussion of the drug disqualification of Bob Baffert and his confirming second drug positive split sample. He is currently banned from racing in both Kentucky and New York. There is some broadcast noise interference which was unavoidable since this production was recorded live.
